South Africa is a great sporting country and a great country for the visiting sports enthusiast. Sport is played from club level up to national squads, but most clubs in most sports can make arrangements for visitors. There are national bodies representing all sports and the would-be visitor should contact these bodies to make arrangements, or keep an eye on the local media once you are here. Apart from the sports already mentioned, others include bowling, caving, climbing and abseiling, cricket, diving, gliding, horse-riding and horse-racing, ice-skating (yes, in Africa!), karate, judo and other martial arts, motor sport and squash.
