There are almost as many different ways of experiencing South Africa's scenic spots, as there are scenic spots. There is a fine network of national roads and car hire is reasonable. There are bus tours to suit every taste and pocket. There is an extensive rail network, but perhaps for the tourist with limited time more important are the air links between centres, even really quite small centres. There are boat trips at most of the bigger coastal points and cruises between major ports. Of course, however, if you would rather not go by boat or plane or train, there are always the hiking trails!
